The article was authored by Kre\u0161imir Dabo, Danijel Kne\u017eevi\u0107, and Dejan Gluva\u010devi\u0107. The study, conducted among 236 residents of Istria and Kvarner actively involved in cultural and heritage associations, found that regional identity is not associated with a single recognizable symbol but with a diverse and layered set of tangible and intangible cultural elements. The findings particularly emphasize the importance of authentic heritage representation, local community involvement, and cooperation among cultural institutions, tourist boards, educational organizations, and local authorities. The article was published in <em>Media, Culture and Public Relations<\/em>, Vol. 17, No. 1 (2026), pp. 91\u2013104.
